Your initial consultation at PhysioFit SWS will take between 30-45 minutes. During this time, we will perform a comprehensive assessment and provide a clinical diagnosis for your condition. We will also begin treatment during this session and discuss a suitable management plan for you. In most cases follow-up appointments are required to continue your treatment, assess your progress and re-evaluate your treatment plan as required. Follow up appointment at are generally 30-40 minutes in length and will be more focused on hands on treatment and exercise prescription.
A referral is not necessary for all private patients, although if you have one bring it with you so that the physiotherapist can liaise with the referring practitioner if required. If you are receiving physiotherapy under a Workers Compensation claim, CTP claim, Departments of Veteran’s Affairs, or have received an Enhanced Primary Care Plan from your GP, then a referral from your GP is required.
An appointment will usually be available within 24-48 hours depending on the time of day you are after.
Each location has differing opening times, but we understand about work commitments so we offer appointments from 8.30am – 7.30pm daily. We are open every alternation Saturdays in the morning. Please call your preferred practice for the opening times
If you have any reports, referrals or X-rays/scans, please bring them with you to the appointment as it may be helpful with providing you the best care. If you have a claim with WorkCover or CTP, please bring all medical certifications, insurance details for us to assist with your claims and provide immediate therapy
Ideally, wear loose, comfortable clothing. For neck and shoulder problems the physiotherapist may require you to remove your shirt. However, you will be provided a gown to use. For back and hip complaints the physiotherapist is likely to want to see your lower back so you may be asked to remove your pants. Gowns are provided, or you may wish to wear shorts or appropriate clothing.

Payment is made at each consultation. We take Credit card, Eftpos and cash. We have HICAPS facilities and are preferred providers for most health funds. If using HICAPS you will be required to pay the remaining gap. This varies between health funds and will depend on your level of cover.
